A Pledge of Heart: Kendrick's Story

During our Easter outreach this year, we visited a community that touched our hearts in a way we will never forget.

While there, we met a courageous woman who has been caring for a child she found abandoned by the railway — just a newborn, barely two weeks old. Today, that child is Kendrick — a bright, spirited 4-year-old boy. Since finding him, this woman, already raising her own children, took Kendrick in and gave him love, care, and a chance at life.
We spoke with her and members of the community, learning about the challenges they face and the love they share. It was a humbling reminder of why Givers of Heart Foundation exists — to stand in the gap where compassion is needed most.
Moved by Kendrick’s story and the resilience of his caretaker, we made a pledge: Givers of Heart Foundation will take full responsibility for Kendrick’s education and well-being. We will get him enrolled in school and ensure his needs are met — from uniforms and supplies to emotional and social support. We’re also providing assistance to help his caretaker continue the incredible work she's been doing.
This moment isn’t just about one child. It’s a reminder that change starts with care — and one act of love can transform a life.
Stay connected with us as we share Kendrick’s journey, and join us in building brighter futures, one heart at a time.
